Founded in 1993, United States-China Exchange Council (USCEC) is
a non-profit organization registered in the State of California, tax
exempt determined by IRS under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal
Revenue Code. USCEC is a friendship, training education and consultant service oriented
organization dedicated to professional exchange programs between the
United States and China. Council membership consists of professionals
from both countries.
USCEC's headquarters is located in the San Francisco
Bay Area, and has several contact offices located in the cities of
China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kunming and Jinan. Under
the leadership of Hon. Chairman Byron Athen, Chief City Attorney and
former Mayor of San Ramon City, USCEC has the pursuit of the goal
and mission which is, through its professional exchange programs for
public benefits, to foster understanding and cooperation between the
United States and the People's Republic of China.
USCEC has already arranged for hundreds of Chinese central and provincial
government delegations and training groups to visit America from Beijing,
Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan, Hunan, Liaoning,
Jilin, Hubei, Guizhou, Tibet, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia and Qinghai.
On the basis of their various interests, delegation members have visited
agencies and offices in federal, states, counties and cities governments
with responsibilities ranging from agriculture, transportation, education,
labor practices, communications, human resources, news media, minority
issues, and social welfare to legislative, judiciary and law enforcement
systems.
Through the exchange of meetings and information, the council is able
to promote understanding, friendship and cooperation between people,
companies and offices in the U.S. and China. USCEC's exchange programs
are all professionally and custom-tailored in the areas of economics,
commerce, manufacturing, science and technology, trading, finance,
news media, education, arts and culture, legal services, health care,
medical, government, women and child care and others. USCEC has been certified as one of China Government Training Partners
in America since 1999 by State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs
which is China Central Government Agency in charge of government oversea
training programs.
USCEC has also arranged professionals from America to visit China.
Through its offices and connection network in China, it is able to
arrange various business tours, outbound lecture programs and cooperative
projects.
